2)Boil it in hot water for about 2-3 hours ,to release the tannin, until the water color do not change ;Repeat the steps if needed;
3)Soak it into normal temperature water , for about 7 days ;
4)Take it out and wash the driftwood
The below disinfection process , you can decide whether to proceed as follows according to the specific situation.
5) Disinfection .Then soak it into potassium hypertonic acid solution for 20 minutes and take it out and wash it in clean water 6) After disinfection, you can put the driftwood aside for 2 days with some water on it. After that, you can take it out and wash it again, then you can use it in the tank decoration.
The pretreatment process is for reference only.Please preprocess according to the actual situation.Besides, better to decoration your fish tank with the driftwood first,First landscaping, then put the fish into the fish tank.

Very pretty. BUT had to clean them a lot Very pretty. BUT had to clean them a lot. Still had dirt and bark on them. Had to drill out a few rotton spots in two of the 4 pieces. Would like to know if anybody has had trouble with their fish dieing after putting in aquarium? I boiled for several hours and then treated in a bucket of water and Seachem Prime for a few hours. Added to my tank and within 2 days I had two dead fish.
Interesting shapes Great pieces. I boiled them for a few hours and soaked them for several days before putting in my tank, and they did not discolor the tank at all. I’m really happy with the shapes I got, they are all very interesting, similar to the picture on the product page. They look fantastic in my 5 gallon tank!
Takes a lot of boiling; worth it. Overall, I like these. I have only gotten one “boring” piece out of the eight I ordered for my 5g tank and my 10g split tank. They are all different and very from 4 – 7 inches long and thin to very thick.Catch is they need to be boiled A LOT (4-5 hours with water changes every hour) and soak for a week to sink. After that they are very pretty and my bettas love them. If you do not boil the water will become the color of tea within days and the water pH will be very acidic…
