Happy with my LitterMaid box because I learned from bad reviews! LIttermaid “hack” makes life so much easier I have had a number of Littermaids over the years. They have typically lasted a year or two, and I have been satisfied with that. For the current one I have, I finally wised up and got inspired by some Pinterest projects to “hack” my Littermaid. I raised it up, with the waste bin hovering over a large cut-out opening in a large Rubbermaid Drawer. The concept is great, the engineering not so much The concept is great, the engineering not so much.Box is not deep enough to hold litter at least 3 inches deep, so cat urine soaks down through the litter and sticks on the bottom of the box. The plastic rake tines that are supposed to scoop are both too far apart and too weak to really scrape off the sticky clay/urine combo, and so the rake scrapes through it leaving some stuck on the bottom of the box and some raked in to the waste receptacle.Sometimes the rake just breaks apart…
