He chose it over an actual flat basking rock. He likes that he can hold onto it easily as it’s a very dense foam, but his claws haven’t damaged it at all. They are pretty sturdy but if you feel paranoid just use something else in your tank to give it a little more support at the bottom. Rupert approved. It seemed a little too lightweight when it first arrived, but after finding a good spot and tempting Rupert (8 year old beardie) up on it with some treats, it’s quickly become his favorite “CatWatch” spot!! Holds great (As long as no one fiddles with the magnets)
Frankie loves it!! Was a little concerned that the “rock” would be destroyed by my beardie’s claws because it appears to be made of some type of lightweight foam but it was held up extremely well and shows no sign of wear and tear. I bought this product in the largest size and she can almost fit on it. Most days I can find Frankie sitting on the ledge. Honestly wish I had known about this before… she absolutely loves it!
