Sharp pieces but once modified makes a good hide. This is going to work, however, I had to modify it to work for my reptile set up. Let me start off by saying that this entire piece is very rough, with a few sharp areas and it is pretty heavy. I read all the revies before purchasing this item, so I pretty much got what I expected. Here is what I found: There is a hole in the top nub of the log, the sides of that hole are VERY jagged and sharp. I took black aquarium silicone and closed off the hole so that my snake would not attempt to crawl…
Great size decor. Nice size. Weights a lot so it won’t shift in your set up. Nice second hide for my ball python. it did come with a few chips that I had to sand down . but other than that its work out great . I cleaned this a couple times with sanitizer and I hasnt effect the paint job at all.
Would be great, except paint flakes off! I got this as an aquarium hide for my axolotl. He really loved it, hung out in it all the time and the size was perfect – big enough for him to continue to use as he grows. Unfortunately less than a month or so after I got it, the black paint on the underside started to peel off. It comes off very easily, as it started to when I was just gently rinsing it under a tap. I don’t feel like it’s safe to put back in now. Bummer!
