This way, I know that the lamp will be shut off if the temp starts to rise and will kick back on if it starts to fall back below the settings. DOES ITS JOB Good product. I have several. They do their job well. Good hanger to put the controller on the back or side of the terrarium, although I did end up putting some of them on the wall behind the cage instead. I wish there were a built-in thermometer with a digital read out showing the temperature inside the cage. I hate having to put in a separate thermometer probe to make sure the cage is at the right temperature. A digital thermometer built into the controller’s probe would make this product…
