The Exo Terra Solar-Glo Sun 160 watt Simulating Terrarium Lamp is the solution to one of the most important aspects of keeping reptiles and amphibians, providing the benefits of natural sunlight. The proper balance of ultraviolet light (including UVA and UVB), visual light and infrared light (heat) in one easy-to-install bulb, makes the Exo Terra Solar-Glo Sun Simulating Terrarium Lamp the choice of professional breeders. The Solar-Glo is a full spectrum light with carefully tuned peaks to ensure appetite, activity, brilliant colors, and calcium absorption through Vitamin D3 production, and above all to prevent metabolic bone disease.
Note: Rheostats (or power dimmers), thermostats, or adjustable-power lamps CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be used with the bulb. If a bulb is removed or turned off for maintenance, it still needs to cool before it will turn on again. This is related to movement of the fixture (which needs to remain static in order to function properly). For example, if the bulb is resting on a sliding screen terrarium top, and the enclosure is opened, the bulb is jostled and might turn off for the aforementioned 10-20 mins for safety/longevity reasons.

Lot’s of Warmth! My beardie loves this bulb and so do we! We purchased this for our Bearded Dragon, Cooper. The brand and type of bulb you use for your bearded dragon can make all the difference in the world. Not every bulb is created equal. We have had our Bearded Dragon, Cooper for five years now, and we were told upfront that we needed to use the most popular heat lamp for bearded dragons, and it was the most expensive one (not an issue for our beardie) as well; however, for several years, those bulbs kept going out within no…
Keeps my beardies healthy!! I love these bulbs. The price on Amazon is much less expensive than any of the pet stores around me where I have paid twice the price. Also many of the stores around me do not carry them in stock regularly. It’s best to change them every 6 months even though they appear to be working so that cost can add up.Since I have 4 grown bearded dragons so that makes the cost even higher. I know they also work well. I had a beardie that all of a sudden was lethargic and sleeping more. He had no…
Making our dragon happy for four months and counting. My example has been in use for roughly thirteen hours a day for four months now. The heat output has actually increased as the bulb has been “broken in” and we have had to raise the light incrementally to achieve the same temperatures on our bearded dragon’s basking spot. As far as the UV benefits, I don’t really know how to rate that because the effects are not easily and quickly detectable. The bottom line is that the lamp (125w) throws plenty of heat to heat half of a forty gallon…
