Good But… For the money this is a good little air pump. Although I do have to say that after around the 4 month mark like everyone else giving a review here it got very noisy.Don’t worry there is a fix! Unscrew the 4 Philips head screws under the unit and separate the bottom and the top. You will find a stack of “L” shaped magnets. Move the stack a bit to the right and tighten the nut that holds…

Whisper 20 & 40 Fantastic! Skip the 10. Don’t buy the Whisper 10!!! The 40 works great and is slightly more money than the 20 which also works — you can adjust airflow with the little valve that comes with the pump. I have five tanks which I have had for over 8 years – all are using whisper pumps. When I use air filters I use a little more pump than is specified for the equivalent tank size. I have bought two 10’s, two 20’s and five 40 whisper pumps. I have 5,10, 20 and 30 gallon tanks. I am now using a 20 for my 10 and 40’s for…

Internal Parts Failure @ 4 months Worked great while it lasted. Almost to the day at the 4 month mark the pump got very loud. I took it apart and discovered the end opposite the motor has a rubber bushing and is held in place by a cylindrical piece of plastic which had cracked and broken into pieces. I bought some Gorilla Glue epoxy approx $5 or 55% the cost of a new air pump and repaired it. We’ll see how long my repair last but I feel it should last longer than 4 months. Simply a design flaw.
