Months have passed and still going strong I bought this light for my blue tongue skink’s bio-active enclosure. Though my blue tongue skink does not come out and bask (he is a rare boy that just doesn’t like to be out of his hide very often) but this light has held strong for months now. I have this and a plant light on my enclosure (this one I took the plastic guard off the light fixture part so there is no obstruction with the UVB and because its in a blue tongue skink enclosure I have it UNDER the lid) and I have plants growing…

Gets the job done, but the original bulb melted some of the plastic cover. I have two of these fixtures in a PVC vivarium. The good thing about them is that they mount in a way that works reasonably well for the configuration of the cage, and the space around the bulb is small enough that there’s no way my snake can squeeze himself around the bulb and pull it out. Of course, that also makes it really hard to get my fingers in there to change the bulb, but those things sort of go together by definition. Unless you have a meter to test the UV output of whatever bulb…

Ok for Price, but take Caution For the price its ok. You have to take off the plastic cover over the bulb. You also need to replace the bulb that comes with it all together. The bulb is unsafe and will cause issue with your reptile. I used the product straight out of box and after a week my chameleon started having eye issues. I immediately discontinued use and replaced the bulb with a more trusted brand. After replacing the bulb with a ReptiSun bulb my chameleon was back to normal after 2-3 weeks of healing. Luckily I…
