Great Timer This time works great for my needs.My wife and I set up a 10 gallon terrarium for three small hermit crabs. Our house gets pretty chilly, so we wanted to be able to keep heat lamps on for them all the time. We have a “day” bulb and a “night” bulb so that the light spectrum is covered.We were manually switching the lights, but the problem with that was our work and sleep schedule isn’t very consistent…so some days it would be “daylight” until 8…

Simple, and it works. It’s what I needed. My initial response after getting it hooked up is that it’s exactly what I needed. It’s simply built, with a similar timing knob as other timers. A quick manual test of rotating the dial through the set times confirms the basic function; when one outlet is powered the other is not. I appreciate that it uses built-in pieces for adjusting the on/off time rather than the removable ones that can be lost.I haven’t used it long enough to know how well it keeps time.I didn’t…

Great . . . except for one killer flaw Timer has separate night and day outlets, which is very nice. Time is set by rotating a 24 hr dial which has pins around the outer perimeter. For night operation one has to raise the pins around the perimeter (1/2 hour per pin). The pins that are down turn the night outlet off. A little lever inside (it’s nice that the cover is transparent enough to let you see inside) rides over the pins to detect if they are raised or lowered.
