Reptile owners: Use Halogen lights instead! This product is absolutely terrible. As an owner of many Chameleons i have tried using these on and off for years, and every time they just don’t cut it. I keep hoping that Zoomed improves the durability of these things as time goes on, but to no avail. Always break I’ve bought so many of these, mostly because there are only two brands that make basking lamps. I’m never buying another one again, they always burn out after two months of using them 10 hours a day, sometimes they even break away from the actual bulb and stay in my fixture. And I’ve tried buying new fixtures thinking that it was the problem. I’m going to start sending them back to the manufacturer. And I’ve bought them in stores too. Bulb cracked on its own within two weeks. After two weeks of operation in a standard open steel-dome lamp fixture, the first bulb cracked right at the stem completely on its own (I didn’t touch it), leaving the bulb filament stuck in the socket. I think the glass is not manufactured properly in some units and thus has a flaw that cracks under normal heat.I see reviews going back to 2014 and earlier citing this same flaw, so it looks like this product has a high flaw/fail rate that the manufacturer is unwilling or unable to…
